The Directors Council is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization in Des Moines, Iowa, which formed in 2004.  We are Black CEOs and Executive Directors of successful Des Moines-area businesses and organizations. With combined leadership experience of over 300 years, we collaborate with other organizations, funders, and individuals to launch solutions to the disparity and inequity plaguing Black Polk County.

As a coalition of leaders, The Directors Council seeks to improve the conditions of the individuals in the neighborhoods we serve. We pool our collective expertise to develop programs and launch unique initiatives that meet unaddressed needs.

Our work has garnered the support of many local, regional, and national philanthropic organizations and businesses. A by-invitation-only group, we also support each other and our organizations through collective grant applications, technical support, and peer guidance.
