We are honored to welcome Mary L. Wells, Polk County Treasurer, to our board. A Des Moines native, Mary’s career has spanned more than 20 years in operations management, leading business operations for major Fortune 100 companies. Her extensive expertise in leadership, process improvement, and technology makes her an asset in navigating complex organizational challenges.
A veteran of the National Guard and a co-founder of the non-profit Investing in My Future, Inc., Mary’s commitment to community service is unwavering. She is also an active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, NAACP, and Corinthian Baptist Church, exemplifying her dedication to leadership and service in both public and private sectors.
Mary’s leadership and community involvement align with the Employment pillar of the One Economy initiative, where enhancing job access and workforce development are key to reducing disparities in the Black community.
